You may have heard that Enable is one of the Government’s chosen partners in their Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) programme.

What is the Ultra-Fast Broadband Programme all about?

The Government has a strategy to increase New Zealand’s global competitiveness, and as part of this they have partnered with Enable and other fibre companies “to accelerate the rollout of ultra-fast broadband to 75 percent of New Zealanders over ten years".

Once completed, the multi-million dollar project will deliver broadband speeds many times faster than those available today to up to 182,000 homes and commercial premises throughout Christchurch and in the surrounding centres of Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Woodend, Lincoln, Prebbleton and Rolleston.

As the UFB fibre is built, homes and businesses can shift their existing services off the copper network and onto fibre for exceptional performance and access to the exciting new services that will become available.
